Clinical Overview

Mole and skin tag removal is a safe, minimally invasive procedure designed to remove benign skin lesions with precision while preserving the surrounding tissue. Following a thorough clinical assessment, the most appropriate removal technique is selected based on the size, location, and characteristics of the lesion.

The procedure is performed by trained medical professionals using advanced techniques to minimise discomfort, reduce scarring, and promote optimal healing. Most treatments are completed within a single appointment with little to no downtime, helping restore smoother, healthier-looking skin while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.

At Sanctuary Wellness Centre

  • Moles are very common skin growths, typically appearing as small, pigmented spots. While the vast majority are benign and non‑cancerous, in some instances they may be atypical or require further review.
  • They generally appear round or oval, ranging in colour from brown, tan or black to blue or pink. They may be smooth or textured, flat or raised, and occasionally feature hair growth; most are less than 6mm in diameter.
  • While often harmless, moles or other skin lesions may be undesirable in appearance. Please note that removal purely for cosmetic purposes is not funded by the NHS. At Sanctuary Wellness Centre, we provide a full clinical assessment to determine whether removal is appropriate and to identify the most suitable technique for your individual case.
  • Available treatments include partial or complete removal, using methods such as cryotherapy (freezing with liquid nitrogen), curettage, or full surgical excision with sutures where required. Our experienced practitioners will guide you through your options and ensure care is delivered safely and sensitively.
